Murphy本名迈克尔·科尔（Michael Cole），于1999年首次登台，曾转战美国东南部多个独立摔角联盟。2002年墨菲加入NWA，擂台名Mikael Judas，并一直效力到2009年。期间他以自己出色的擂台能力和忍受痛苦的能力为自己赢得了"Priest Of Punishment"的绰号和非常棒的声誉。
2010年墨菲和枪手戛纳（Gunner）以保镖的身份出现在TNA iMPACT节目上，这也是TNA对他们的一次试训。之后他们正式成为TNA的一对双打搭档。2011年2月，他们同时与TNA签订了一份两年的合约，正式加盟TNA。
