To travel from Tokyo to Nagoya
you should take the JR SHINKANSEN
the fastest train. Take a train from JR TOKYO STATION. Buy a ticket from the JR Ticket Office. It is simple. It will cost you 6080 yen (for the ticket) + 3980 yen (for taking Shinken)
total 10070 yen. There are 3 kinds of trains for you to choose
NOZOMI
KODAMA and HIKARI. They cost you the same and the traveling time is similar (about 1 hour 39 min to 1 hour 55 min). Train schedule is quite frequent. See the schedule here: ekikara.jp/newdata/line/2301011/down-1_1 You may ask if you could get a cheaper one. The wer is you could take the Honsen (Ordinary Train) and Tokkyu (Express). But you have to change trains several times
and it will take you 5-6 hours or more to reach there. If you have the JR PASS (28300 / 37800 yen)
you may take the SHINKANSEN
except for the NOZOMI Train
for which you have to pay a surcharge. Here is the website about JR PASS: jreast.co.jp/e/index Place to See in Nagoya
please refer to the city's travel website : ncvb.or.jp/index_e For many enthusiast of Japan travel
Nagoya is an industrial city and has not much to see. Most of us only take it as the trportation trit to visit more exciting places
e.g.
Gifu Ken
Mie Ken
Matsumoto City
e In the city
the most worth seeing place is the Nagoya Castle. After the destruction of the old castle in the War
they built a concrete replica there. But it is still nice to visit
with a beauitful garden
nice museum... Another place to see should be the Atsuda Shrine. It reminds visitors of the Edo period
nice to see. Further email exchange is wele.
